Rangermade Knives is now "Rangermade Knife & Tool"
I am currently scheduling one class per month and accepting two students per class. Each class is five days duration (mon-fri) and cost is $1500 per student.
All classes taught in my climate controlled workshop in Sanger, Texas.
Build the solid foundation that will carry you through in your knife making journey. Learn to grind a blade, heat treat steel, attach and shape a handle, and properly sharpen a full tang knife.
Building on the skills of the beginner class, create a full tang hunter with a tapered tang, bolsters and liners.
If you've completed a few dozen fixed blades, perhaps you are ready for the challenge of building a folding knife. Build a Gentleman's linerlock from start to finish.
This class is all about taking your linerlocks to the next level. Contoured bolster transitions, file work, sculpted pocket clips and exotic materials are all covered.
Long post...I spent this week on vacation taking a liner lock folder class hosted by Bob At @rangermadeknives. It was the best 5 days I could have ever spent doing something I truly love to do. Bob is an amazing instructor. He help me and my good buddy Joe build these amazing knives from start to finish. I am beyond proud of what I made. It’s the nicest knife I have ever made. Here are the details of of the knife. Blade is CPM154 (61hrc) 410 SS bolsters, Tiffany blue G10, Titanium liners that are stippled and anodized blue and a custom made from scratch thumb screw with the same G10 as the scales. The blade design is Bob’s “Freelancer”. I can’t say how thankful I am for having had this opportunity. Now to remember everything I learned.
I just spent 5 Amazing days in a Liner Lock Folder class that Bob Ohlemann blessed me with being able to stand side by side with him and learn how he makes folders. I took this class with another good friend and knife maker Robbie K. Never did I ever imagine I would walk away in 5 days with this amazing quality knife.
What makes this knife priceless to me, is that not only is this my very first folder ever, but the feather in the blade Is also my very first feather I was blessed to make side by side with Master Smith J.W. Randall! Both Bob and JW have been monumental in their mentorship and teaching with me and more importantly the lifelong friendship bond that has come because of this craft. This knife is priceless to me!
Day Five of Advanced Full Tang Knifemaking Class with Bob Ohlemann of Rangermade Knives. Today was a master class in handle and knife finishing work. Greg and I are really excited to put what we learned this week to work back in our own shops!
